The appointment of Mike Moore as New Zealand Ambassador to Washington is an inspired choice according to the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce given the importance of New Zealand's business and trading relationship with the US.

"The achievement of a free trade agreement with the United States as part of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the conclusion of the WTO Doha Round are two of the Chamber's top priorities," said Chamber CEO Charles Finny.

"As a former Director General of the World Trade Organisation, Mike Moore's experience leave him well placed in Washington to assist in the achievement of these goals," Mr Finny concluded.
