Council will not appeal against judicial review decision

Wanganui Mayor Annette Main today said the Wanganui District Council will not appeal against the High Court decision dismissing the application for judicial review regarding the relocation of Stewart Murray Wilson into the Wanganui District.

The Council made the decision at its meeting this afternoon.

It also confirmed the public areas for which it will issue notices under the Trespass Act against Stewart Murray Wilson.

The Council resolved to issue trespass notices against Mr Wilson for the following parks, reserves and recreational facilities:

Virginia Lake

James McGregor Memorial Park, including Kowhai Park

Castlecliff Domain

Springvale Park, including the Splash Centre

Cooks Gardens

Wembley Park

Spriggens Park

Victoria Park

Laird Park

Peat Park

Lundon Park

Williams Domain

Aramoho Park

Mowhanau Beach Domain and children's play area

Bason Botanic Gardens

Lake Wiritoa beach area

Wanganui East Pool

Gonville Domain

The Council resolved to review the effectiveness of these trespass notices in 12 months' time.
