16 JUNE 2008 - "Grandstanding! Nothing more than hypocritical grandstanding," is how Libertarianz Transport spokesman Michael Murphy described Commerce Minister Lianne Daiziel's recently announced inquiry into oil pricing.

"This will do nothing more than provide employment for some loyal cronies," Murphy says. "The government wants to divert attention away from high fuel taxes - not to mention taxes-on-taxes - and put the blame on oil companies. Nanny state needs to find a scapegoat, and as usual private enterprise fits the bill."

Libertarianz would immediately remove GST on petrol, dropping the price by around 24 cents a litre.

"It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!"
