With Queenstown Lakes District Council staff located within six different buildings in Queenstown, the search for a single office solution continues, QLDC acting chief executive Stewart Burns said.

The Council is currently seeking expressions of interest to provide office accommodation, in order to test the market and identify potential options for both Council and its Council Controlled Organisation, Lakes Environmental, he said.

"We have been looking at opportunities but it was important that we cast the net widely to see what, if any, interest there may be in providing suitable office accommodation for the Council," Mr Burns said.

In the long term, staff located in 'out houses' around the Gorge Road 'campus' was not efficient or sustainable.

"From a customer perspective we also want to offer a 'one-stop-shop', not to mention the economies that come with staff being in one location," Mr Burns said.

Expression of Interest information was available on the Council website and at www.gets.govt.nz with expressions closing at the end of August.
