SM would put an end to Peters holding NZ to ransom

Winston Peters is casting a dreadful shadow of New Zealand politics yet again. For the third MMP election out of six Winston could choose the Government and the Prime Minister.

Jordan Williams, spokesman for Vote for Change says "The only way to ensure charlatan like Winston cannot chose New Zealand's Prime Minister is to Vote for Change on Saturday. Winston has proven that he cannot resist the baubles of office and cannot be trusted to keep his promises."

A change to Supplementary Member greatly reduces the chances of a rogue like Winston choosing New Zealand's Prime Minister.

"Under SM Winston would only get a proportion of the 30 list seats, not all the seats, meaning it's far less likely that he gets to chose who governs."

A big problem with MMP is that it gives too much power to one person, with that person at this election potential Winston Peters. Vote for Change believes New Zealanders should choose our Prime Minister, not a politician with a dubious record like Winston's.

"New Zealanders should know who their Prime Minister is on election night. They should not have to wait while one self important peacock feeds his vanity by holding a bidding war for his support or going fishing while the country awaits his decision."
