The Maori Party says it takes a village to raise a child and it is encouraging whanau throughout Aotearoa today, on National Children's Day, to take time out to praise their children, mokopuna, nieces and nephews.

"Every day should be a day to give praise and encouragement to our children, but particularly so on this very special day," Maori Party co-leader Tariana Turia said.

"Most parents in this country are doing great mahi with their children. It takes a village, a community to raise children and just like adults, they too need praise and encouragement.

"I hope today sets a catalyst for parents and whanau who do not give their children praise and encouragement every day," she said.

We couldn't let those in all the other lesser arrangments realise the imbalance they face or to aspire to improve the plight of their own kids in the next Generation.
We must tell them all the dysfunctional situations are equal which is a Manifest Lie as every statistic says so.
