Feedback invited on Our Place Taieri Mouth Community Plan – Clutha District Council

Consultation on the Our Place Taieri Mouth Community Plan has opened today, and feedback is welcomed from residents and the community.

Focusing on key areas the community has previously flagged as priorities for the township, the feedback received will be used to help develop the Our Place Taieri Mouth Community Plan.

The Our Place Taieri Mouth Community Plan follows on from many other successful plans that have been developed, such as Council’s Our Place Balclutha, Our Place Milton, Our Place Waihola and Our Place Catlins community plans.

Clutha District Mayor Bryan Cadogan and councillors will be holding drop-in sessions in the coming weeks to chat with residents and hear their aspirations for Taieri Mouth.

Clutha District Mayor Bryan Cadogan says “like many of you, I have aspirations of how our district’s towns can look, both now and into the future, so I can’t stress enough the importance of what we are trying to achieve here.”

“It’s time we all talked about our vision and priorities for our community, listened to others and believed that, collectively, we can make a difference.”

The consultation questions focus on key priorities such as opportunities for development, community facilities and reserves, landscape and the environment, access to the Taieri River, and walking and cycling improvements.

The consultation document will be delivered to mailboxes throughout Taieri Mouth and surrounding areas in the coming days. Residents are invited to complete and return the questionnaire via FreePost, or alternatively you can read more and have your say online through our website.

Mayor Bryan Cadogan, Councillors and Clutha District Council staff will be holding drop-in sessions in Taieri Mouth on the following dates:

  • Thursday 8 February between 4pm – 5pm, at Leitch Memorial Hall,
  • Thursday 8 February between 6pm – 7:30pm, at Leitch Memorial Hall,
  • Saturday 10 February from 1pm onwards, at Livingstonia Park (as part of the Family Fun Day event).

They will also be attending the Taieri Mouth Amenities Society AGM on 29 January.

The consultation period will close on 1 March 2024.
