I got invited to the first ‘Diary Of A Wimpy Kid’ last year and got four tickets instead of the normal two. So I invited along my brother and my flatmate but quickly regretted that when I realised this film could end up being more kiddish than I first thought.

When I first saw the trailer for this film I was instantly intrigued. A documentary about the first year of life of four babies born in different parts of the world – hell, yeah, I’ll see that!

As ever, I went into this film knowing nothing other than what I picked up from a brief look at a poster for it, which showed Paul Giamatti as the lead and that it may or may not have been a comedy.

It’s been a long time since the ‘Scream’ films dominated the minds of teenagers looking for a fun-filled horror movie, as the series pumped out three movies between 1996 and 2000.

Russell Brand is an actor I do like but also feel he can never escape his over the top crazy character persona, which he portrays so well in films like ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshal’ and ‘Get Him To The Greek’, as it feels like he’s just playing himself.

Let’s have a look at things. I’m a big Hong Kong movie fan and because I’m lazy, I also lump in any other film made on the mainland into the same bracket as the small Hong Kong island. So, as to be expected, I’m a big Donnie Yen fan, as are a lot of other people.

I’ve been a big fan of Adam Sandler over the years  and though I haven’t seen all his films, the ones I have are either brilliant or pretty damn solid with only a few hiccups along the way like ‘You Don’t Mess With The Zohan’, which I thought was pretty average.

Dane Cook is someone I wasn’t originally a fan of and this wasn’t based entirely on what I had seen of his work.  Instead it was based more on his reputation through other media, from talk show hosts to even ‘Family Guy’ making fun of him.

Comedy is one genre I love, while at the same time being wary of, as a bad comedy or bad stand up comedian can be hard to sit through.

I must say that when it comes to the South Pole, or North Pole for that matter, I don’t hold much interest in the places except for knowing all too well how beautiful they are.
