I love Star Wars! Also despite what some of the hard core fans say, I still love the prequels despite their massive amount of flaws! So when I got my invite for the press screening for the 3D re-release of ‘The Phantom Menace’ I was quick to say yes!
Being a bit of a geek when it comes to secrete societies, and closed door organisations like the FBI and CIA, makes films based around these things a little more cool in my eyes.
When I first saw the trailer for ‘Hugo’ it really surprised me that it was directed by Martin Scorsese. Not because it looked bad or anything, but more that it just looked really different than his other films. After seeing it though it was Scorsese through and through!
The first ‘Sherlock Holmes’ was pretty damn cool, but to me it just wasn’t as good as I thought it could have been. In fact, I thought it was a good start for a possible franchise, with each film in the series stepping up a gear as they went.
Now, I’ve got to say that I’m not really a fan of Brett Ratner anymore, which is to say I used to be, kind of. So when I saw he was directing this film I have to say that instantly lowered my hopes for it. Though, having said that, the trailer did look good and it had a great cast!
I love a good horror comedy, and when I saw the trailer for this film, I thought it had an awesome take on the genre! Not to mention I love Alan Tudyk who plays Tucker!
Everyone knows, or at least anyone looking for any sense of credibility in the world of film and art, that Steven Spielberg is one of this generation’s best film makers, and will forever be remembered as one of the all time greats.
It’s not often in a series of films that the 3rd is the best, and by a long shot, but that’s exactly what happened with the ‘Mission Impossible’ series. I really liked number 1, number 2 was pretty average, but number 3 was just an awesome action thriller!
I’m a pretty big fan of Russell Peters and have been since I first saw him years ago. Though if I ever try and figure out where I first saw him I hit a brick wall. Was it on TV, one of his stand up DVD’s or a YouTube clip?
