I’m showing my age saying I remember ’21 Jump Street’ back when it was first on TV, but I actually don’t remember much about the show itself, so the film version was a clean slate for me.

Well if you took ‘The Help’, mixed it with the flair of the French, and the spice of the Spanish, then what you’ll get is this film!

Finding out during the film that it’s actually the third part of a trilogy, would often spoil it, but luckily with this film it never seemed to leave you wondering how the characters got to where they are. If anything, it has made me want to go back and check out the first two!

I watched season one of this show last year and thought it was just good, as I’m a big fan of ‘The Universe’ series, and so it had a tough act to live up to. But the second season still perked my interest enough to give it ago, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Well, I only just reviewed another found footage film, and here we have another interesting twist to the genre, kind of similar to the ‘Chronicle’ film which put a super hero twist on it. This film though puts the teenage party angle on it, so instantly I’m kind of hooked.

Having reviewed the exact same series from History Channel last week, but based on Ancient Rome, a part of me wasn’t looking forward to reviewing this one as I felt a little ancient history overload.

I’m a big fan of Mark Wahlberg which I’m not afraid to admit! He has that perfect mix of good and bad acting, but pulls it together with a cool persona, which he plays so well! Though he never seems to play a character, instead just plays him, but it works!

I like to think of myself as a pretty savvy consumer of information these days, and that I know when something is being honest or trying to get across a deeper message, even in a subversive way.

I love me a bit of ancient history, that’s for sure! Though, if I was to pick my favourite, it would be ancient Egypt and then the ancient South Americans close behind, mainly because their history involves a decent amount of mystery!

With a name like ‘Killer Elite’ you already have a movie that just sounds like it’s going to rock! Add into the mix a great trailer and you had a film I was really looking forward to! So it was a very quick yes from me when I got my press invite.
