One dead in Matamata crash

Police can now confirm one person has died following a crash on State Highway 27 in Matamata.

The crash, involving a car and a cyclist, occurred about 6.40pm.

The cyclist died at the scene.

The driver of the car has been taken to hospital with moderate to minor injuries.

A car and cyclist collided at about 6.40pm this evening.
