Meat and poultry lead 0.5 percent monthly fall - Stats NZ

Lower meat and poultry prices led the 0.5 percent fall in February 2018 food prices, Stats NZ said today.

Beef prices fell 4.4 percent, while chicken prices fell 3.4 percent. The average price for cheapest available chicken breast was $12.83 a kilo, down from $13.94 the previous month.

Tropical Cyclone develops in Coral Sea, remnants may reach northern NZ

A small tropical cyclone has formed in the Coral Sea according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center Tuesday morning. Australian forecasters will be responsible for naming it, which should happen today and if so it will be named Linda.
