Liquor outlets in Waitara and New Plymouth are getting a tick of approval after none sold alcohol to underage buyers during a controlled purchase operation last Friday (19 December).
A Controlled Purchase Operation (CPO) was conducted by Northland Police and Northland District Health Board over the weekend. The operation audited 16 Off-Licensed premises in the eastern beach locations from Oakura in the north to Waipu in the south.
Two men have been charged with assaulting a police officer following an attack on an Orewa Constable today.
The officer was patrolling the Orewa CBD at around 12.40pm, where there is a 24-hour liquor ban.
Fifty one off-licence liquor outlets in the Auckland City Police District have been caught selling alcohol to minors aged 16 or 17 so far this year.
