According to The Telegraph, “A £3.75 million house overlooking the 18th green and the 1st tee of the Old Course in St Andrews, the home of golf, is about to go on sale.”
Click on the link and there’s a photograph of a view to die for, especially if you’d like to be there to see the 2010 Open at St Andrews.

But wait!, a wee bit more, “As well as overlooking what is thought to be the oldest golf course in the world, it also has a view of the North Sands beach which was made famous by Chariots of Fire.”

Now ain’t that the truth.

The following excerpt from pga.com reporting on James Kingston winning the Mercedes-Benz sounds a bit like Michael Campbell’s experience prior to winning the US Open.

"Kingston said: "A week ago I didn't even know I was in the event. I would probably have spent a few more days at home this week, but it shows how things can change.
"I spoke to the lady who does my travel arrangements and she asked what I was doing," he added. "I said I wasn't playing and she replied 'What do you mean? You're in.'
"I didn't know at that stage. One minute you don't think you don't even think you are playing and the next you win it," he said. "It's like the South African Open. I was injured a couple of days beforehand and didn't think I could play and I went on to win that. Two wins and both of them unexpected."
