The first tournament of 2018 will bring some strong match ups including 2nd seed Julia Goerges up against Rio Olympic Gold medallist Monica Puig and 3rd seed Barbora Strycova versing wildcard and former top 5 player Sara Errani.

ASB Classic sweetheart and top seed Caroline Wozniacki takes on the giant killer from last year’s event, American Madison Brengle in what will be a tough battle first up.

Defending champion Lauren Davis who was at the draw ceremony at Ronald McDonald House, has drawn a qualifier which means she’ll have another day to practise before taking the court on Tuesday and Kiwi Jade Lewis will also have to wait to see who her opponent will be from qualifying.

4th seed Agnieszka Radwanska has Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia as her first round match and if the 2013 ASB champion can get through her side of the draw she could fulfil a dream semi-final against her good friend Caroline Wozniacki.

Although, all eyes will be on the blockbuster first round games that could go either way.

The order of play for the main draw and these key match ups will be announced tomorrow.

The ASB Classic will span for two weeks; the women's tournament kicking off on January 1st to 6th followed by the men’s tournament from January 8th to 13th. Tickets will be available for purchase through Ticketek. You can purchase tickets either online, over the phone on (0800 842 538) or in person at one of the agencies listed on the event website.

Qualifying rounds continue tomorrow starting at 10am. Main draw will start on Monday.
