Aces well placed for Burger King Super Smash Finals, says Mark Chapman

There's little more than a fortnight to go in the 2018 Burger King Super Smash and while yesterday's washout robbed the Auckland Aces of a chance to overtake the Knights for the outright lead, they shape as one of the leading contenders for the national T20 title - and won't be fretting about their current position, on equal top points and not far behind the Knights on net run rate.

Dynamic young Aces batsman Mark Chapman is the second highest run-scorer in the competition this season, the 23-year-old's 215 runs at an impressive strike rate of 170.63 from just five games behind only Knights tyro Tim Seifert (298 from seven games at SR 146.07).

Both have now registered their maiden T20 century this season and in the attached Media AUDIO Mark Chapman says having his last three round robin matches at home at Eden Park Outer Oval - the first a top-of-the-table clash with the Knights - is a useful scenario at the business end of the competition.

All three of the Aces' matches at Eden Park Outer Oval will be broadcast LIVE on SKY Sport.
