This April, the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens returns to the Singapore National Stadium from 28 to 29 April. The two-day event is stop number eight of the 10-leg HSBC World Rugby Seven Series, bringing sixteen of the world’s best teams to the Garden City. Competing countries include defending champions Canada, as well as regular heavyweights Fiji, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.

In the weeks leading up to this year’s competition, fans of all ages can enjoy the buzz of the Singapore Rugby Carnival. The festivities will offer families the opportunity to enjoy an array of fun-filled rugby-themed activities, children’s programmes and talent meet and greets as well as the rugby itself.

The Transformers, My Little Pony, and Nerf will descend into the 55,000-seat state-of-the-art stadium to take youngsters on an unforgettable adventure through their respective ‘immersive zones’.

The Transformers With a focus on the theme of eternal battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, the Transformer zone will offer a Deceptions target practice, photo opportunities with Transformers cut-outs, as well as arts and craft activities.

Nerf Rather like the game of rugby, the Nerf-themed activities are all based around team play. A Nerf archway entry, blaster testing facility, battle and target practice zone await those who like to test their target practice skills and have fun along the way.

My Little Pony My Little Pony will take children to the magical world of Equestria, where they will get the chance to meet Pinky Pie, Twilight Sparkles, Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack.

The imagination of young fans will continue to soar with The Superdudes, Spartan Kids Challenges and Strider Adventure Zone, providing them with more adventures to share than ever before.

The funniest international children’s group, Superdudes will engage young ticket-holding fans in the promenade with performances and sing-alongs by children’s book creator, Stevie Nicholson and his special friends including Pencil Pirate, Flutterby and the cheeky Bubble Trubble.

Spartan Kids Challenges

Spartan Singapore has two activations on site, including the kid-friendly obstacle courses and fun challenges for the young rugby fans at the promenade for ticket holders to take part in.

Strider Adventure Zone Situated at the promenade, children with ticket holding guardians get an opportunity to enter the Strider Adventure Zone and try Strider Bikes - zoom away! At OCBC Square, non-ticket holders with children between the ages of two and five can participate at half-hourly rates on Saturday for a chance to gain instant access to the Singapore Sevens!

No family festival is complete without a wide range of delicious eateries, retail outlets, face-painting, balloon arts and magic shows. Visitors to the Singapore Sevens will find these activities at the Fun Zone throughout the two-day fiesta. What’s more, there is a chill zone with beanbags and national flag manicure and pedicure booths for those feeling extra patriotic.
