Due to huge demand, the final section of the South Stand has been opened at Mt Smart Stadium for the Monster Energy S-X Open Auckland on November 24.

Tickets to the South Stand are now available across all price categories with high demand sparked by the multitude of recent world-class rider announcements to the Auckland event.

New Zealand sports fans are in for a real treat on November 24 as they get set to witness a combined six world championship titles worth of talent on Kiwi soil, with both Chad Reed and Ryan Villopoto confirmed for the event.

However, the latest addition to the line-up is what’s got Kiwi blood really boiling with the self-proclaimed ‘King of Two-Strokes’ Ronnie Mac confirming he’ll be heading to Auckland with two goals in mind, beating Ben Townley and bad mouthing Kiwis.

"You know when we go down to Auckland for the race, and I’m leading Team USA to victory over Australia and New Zealand, and they talk about this Ben Townley being this awesome rider from New Zealand, it’s gonna be a real shock for the Kiwis to see him lose," Mac said.

"I always think to myself, what are New Zealand people, what are ‘Kiwis’? As they call themselves, and I kind of think of them as the Canadians of Australia, they wanna be Australians, just like Canadians wanna be American, but they’re just not cool enough."

After hearing Mac smack-talk his homeland, former World Champion Townley, from Taupo, was quick to fire back at the fast-mouthed American.

"The Mac’s a bit of a joke really, but yeah I’ll give him a shot if he wants to come all the way down here and bad mouth Kiwis we’ll show him how winners ride Supercross," Townley said.

The Monster Energy S-X Open Auckland is New Zealand’s newest and biggest action sports event featuring pyrotechnics, live music and first-class concert like entertainment value.

With a pit paddock area accessible on the outside of the stadium for all motorsport fans to get up close and personal with their favourite teams and riders, the S-X Open promises to be an amazing spectacle for all ages to enjoy.

Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) will be supporting the event as part of Auckland’s Major Events Portfolio, which generates social and economic benefits for the region.

The event also forms part of the Monster Energy S-X Open International Supercross FIM Oceania Championship, which consists of two rounds; the Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney (November 9-10) and Monster Energy S-X Open Auckland (November 24), and is sanctioned by FIM Oceania (FIMO).
