On the eve of their opening ICC Women’s World T20 Group B match against India, WHITE FERNS captain Amy Satterthwaite is confident her team can front up.

"I think we know what India is going to throw at us," Satterthwaite said.

"The Indians spin the ball extremely well. What they showed [in the warm-up match] against England, is they put the ball in really good areas and ask a lot of the batter. So we know that we're going to have to be on our game to counteract that."

India’s spinners are something the WHITE FERNS have planned for, the team well aware of the different types of conditions they are likely to face tomorrow.

"Last night it didn't look like the wicket took heaps of turn. Obviously, playing tomorrow in the morning is going to be different conditions again."

The WHITE FERNS against India is the first of three Group B matches at Providence Stadium, which is an additional consideration for captains.

"We know throughout the tournament you're going to have to adjust to the wickets as they probably change throughout the tournament. It's nice to get the first opportunity on it tomorrow and I guess get to assess the conditions."

With the top two qualifiers progressing to the semi-finals, there’s a feeling this match will be pivotal to New Zealand’s success in the ICC Women’s World T20.

"I think it is an important match, and we're really looking forward to that. I don't think it's a disadvantage to have it first off. I think it's a good place to be that you've got to hit the ground running."
