Kiwi squash player Paul Coll has been beaten in his quarter-finals at the PSA Tournament of Champions in New York by second seed Ali Farag from Egypt 11-9, 11-7, 11-6 in 48 minutes.

The loss means that fellow New Zealander Joelle King who beat fifth seed Camille Serme of France also in 48 minutes in her quarter-final earlier in the day is the only non-Egyptian player in either the men’s or women’s semifinals at the tournament.

King, the fourth ranked player in the world now faces Raneem El Welily (Egypt) for a place in the final. They have played a staggering 14 times with the Egyptian leading 10-4 overall. However the Kiwi has won the last three times they played including in the final of the Hong Kong Platinum tournament which was King’s first title at that level.
