A win and a loss for Kiwi squash players in the United States in the latest PSA tournaments.

Women’s No.2 Amanda Landers Murphy from Rotorua scored a first round victory at the Cleveland Classic Bronze PSA event 11-3, 11-9, 11-8 in 27 minutes over Canadian Nicole Bunyan.

Landers-Murphy ranked 41st in the world will now face Mayar Hany (Egypt) the seventh seed ranked 24th in the second round. Of note was that ‘unofficial’ Kiwi, Nele Gilis scored a straight game win over her Spanish opponent in the first round.

Unfortunately at the PSA silver Motor City Open in Detroit New Zealand men’s No.2 Campbell Grayson was beaten in a lengthy straight game loss by Chris Hanson from the United States 5-11, 7-11, 6-11 in the first round in 47 minutes.
