New Zealand squash pro Paul Coll is getting ready for his latest tournament and another possible move up the rankings.

The 26-year-old from Greymouth currently sits at No.5 in the world and a good performance at the DPD Open in Eindhoven, in the Netherlands with his first match on Thursday could help him reach another high and overtake No.4 ranked Simon Rosner (Germany).

But first Coll has to wait for his opponent to be decided. As sixth seed Coll has a bye to the second round where he will play the winner of George Parker from England or German Raphael Kandra.

If he wins that match it’s likely he’d play third seed, but now current No.6 Karim Abel Gawad (Egypt) in the quarters. He is seeded to play either world No.1 Ali Farag (Egypt) or fourth seed Rosner in the semis.

The tournament in Eindhoven is a PSA Gold status event worth US$106,000. It provides a good build up for the Platinum tournaments at El Gouna in Egypt later in the month and the British Open in May.
