Second Mainland Series double-header draws karters south

The second, double-header, round of this year’s McLaren Racing Mainland Series has drawn the South Island’s top karters south this week for the annual two-day/two venue Southern Series meeting at Invercargill and Dunedin over the weekend.

The first double-header round of this year’s pan-South Island series was at the Sunbelts double-header meeting at Blenheim and Nelson over Queen’s Birthday weekend, while the third will run in conjunction with Christchurch’s annual Garden City Championships meeting in late September.

The first day of racing is at the KartSport Southland club’s Invercargill Oil Shop Kart Raceway at Sandy Point Domain tomorrow (Saturday). The second is at the KartSport Dunedin club’s Silverstream Raceway near Mosgiel on Sunday.

Heading the Series points standings across the eight classes are;

Open - Jack Noble-Adams

Rotax Max Light - William Exton

Rotax Max Heavy - Andrew Broughton

Briggs LO206 Light - Blake Greenfield

Briggs LO206 Heavy - Mike Kendrick

Rotax Max Junior - Bo Hill

Vortex Mini ROK - Louis Sharp

Cadet ROK - Zach Tucker
