Kiwi Brendon Leitch goes for gold this weekend at Jerez in Spain in the biggest Lamborghini racing weekend of the year.

The Invercargill driver will line up for the final round of the 2019 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship and will also race in the Super Trofeo World Finals at the same track over the same weekend.

The Asian series is one of four global Super Trofeo championships fought out around the world and all will reach their conclusion this weekend in Spain at the Jerez circuit before the before the Asian series drivers go head-to-head with their Europe and North America Lamborghini Super Trofeo counterparts in the World Finals.

Leitch will once again be paired up with his very quick amateur co-driver Massimo Vignali in their Leipert Motorsport entry for what will be an extremely busy few days of racing at the former Grand Prix circuit. It represents yet another new track this year for the Dayle ITM and Lamborghini Auckland-supported racer, but he is looking forward to the biggest Lamborghini racing weekend of the year.

"First and foremost it should be a fantastic experience for all of the drivers competing from all of the four Trofeo series with almost non-stop action from Thursday onwards," said Leitch.

"We know what we have to do to be quick in the races and we have consistently proved we can match anyone on race pace so we are definitely heading into the weekend with one eye on challenging the crew ahead of me in the points table who are team mates. The Pro/Am title is still doable if we can beat them well."

"As for the World Finals I reckon we've got as good a shot as anyone and if we can get our set up and speed nailed pretty early in the weekend I see no reason why we cannot be a factor."

The two races that comprise Round 6 of Leitch's Super Trofeo Asia campaign will be held together with the final double header of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America. Two free practice sessions will take place on Thursday morning before two back-to-back qualifying sessions in the afternoon. An action-packed Friday will feature Race 1 at 10:00 CEST and Race 2 at 15:05 CEST.

The following day the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final gets underway, with the Amateur and Lamborghini Cup drivers in one group and the Pro and Pro-Am drivers racing together. Following back-to-back qualifying sessions, Race 1 for the Amateur and Lamborghini Cup drivers takes place at 15:05 CEST, ahead of the Pro and Pro-Am Race 1 at 17:00 CEST. Sunday’s Race 2 will first see the Am and Lamborghini Cup drivers race for the final time this season at 11:30 CEST, before the Pro and Pro-Am drivers race at 15:00 CEST.

All the action from Round 6 and from the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final will be available to watch via a live stream at: squadracorse.lamborghini.com.
