Ashley Holds Onto Third

Wellington, March 30 NZPA - New Zealand boardsailor Tom Ashley has retained his third position in the RS:X fleet racing at the Princesa Sofia regatta in Palma de Majorca, Spain.

Ashley claimed third and eight placings in the two latest races for 19 points.

Teammate Michael Bullot moves from ninth up to fifth in the Laser class after a win in the first race sailed on day two.

The Murrays Bay Sailing Club representative was 16th in the second race, and leapfrogs Andrew Murdoch to be the best placed of the six kiwis competing in this class.

Murdoch is 31st, Andy Maloney 14th, and Sam Meech is 24th.

In the women's 470 Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie slipped from fifth position to seventh in the standings.

Laser radial: Sara Winther 38th (17, BFD, 33).
