Blackcaps To Teach Cricket At The National Bank Super Camp In Wellington

Wellington cricket fanatics can head to The National Bank's National Cricket Club Super Camp on 16 March, to learn new batting, bowling, fielding and coaching skills from the big boys of New Zealand Cricket.

This season's last National Cricket Club Super Camp will be in Wellington and runs from 1.30-8pm on Tuesday, 16 March at Anderson Park, two days before the first test match between New Zealand and Australia in Wellington.

Camps have already been held in Dunedin, Christchurch, Auckland and Napier prior to BLACKCAPS One Day International matches.

The National Bank Super Camp attendees in Wellington will learn skills on the pitch and in the field. The National Cricket Club coaching clinics are for volunteer coaches from primary school level to 1st X1. Coaches will learn from some of New Zealand's leading high performance coaches about the fundamentals of coaching.

BLACKCAP Jeetan Patel said the National Cricket Club Super Camps are a brilliant way to give back to community cricket. "We know that local and regional cricket is where the BLACKCAPS of the future are going to come from so the team sees it as a priority to get involved to nurture cricket's development in all areas, whether they are coaches or players."

The National Bank's National Cricket Club supports all levels of cricket from social through to club and international cricket.

"The National Cricket Club is designed to support grassroots cricket nationally by bringing elite cricket players and coaches to local clubs. The National Bank has been involved in supporting and growing cricket for more than 10 years and by supporting young people in particular we are giving back to the code and enhancing the development of cricket further," says Head of Sponsorship for the National Bank Sue McGregor.

Old Boys Collegians Cricket Club will receive a signed cricket bat and test match tickets during the camp from the National Bank.

Each Super Camp has a free BBQ for participants; members of the BLACKCAPS will join the action from 4.30pm to 6.00pm.
