Wellington, June 20 NZPA - Two New Zealanders have made the shortlist for the International Rugby Board's junior player of the year.
New Zealand under-20 captain Tyler Bleyendaal and wing Julian Savea are both included on a shortlist of four for the award, which will be announced after their team's junior world championship final against Australia at Rosario, Argentina, on Tuesday (NZT).
Savea, of Wellington, has scored eight tries in the tournament to date, while Canterbury first five-eighth Bleyendaal has led the age group side with distinction.
Others in contention for the award are Australian centre Robbie Coleman and Argentine first five-eighth Ignacio Rodriguez Muedra.
New Zealand enter the final seeking a third successive junior world title.
Coach Dave Rennie has named the same starting 15 who appeared in the 36-7 semifinal win over South Africa which followed decisive pool victories over Fiji, Samoa and Wales.
He has made just one change on the reserves bench, with Richard Haddon named ahead of Matt Graham.

Reserves: Paul Ngauamo (Canterbury), Willie Ioane (Manawatu), Tom Franklin (Otago), Richard Haddon (North Harbour), Kayne Hammington (Wellington), Hayden Parker (Otago), Jason Woodward (Wellington).
