Jim Doyle, CEO of New Zealand Rugby League today confirmed that it is full steam ahead for the Four Nations tournament being held in New Zealand and Australia in October and November this year.
Mr Doyle said "It is disappointing to hear these rumours when planning is well underway and ticket sales have got off to an excellent start. I have spoken with the ARL and the NRL and they have assured me there is no basis to these rumours and they all fully support the tournament."
He continues "I spoke with David Garnsey, CEO of the Players Association this morning and he says the players want to play international league and are looking forward to the tournament."
Doyle concludes "This is such a fantastic opportunity for rugby league fans to show their support for the game with a feast of international football being played in New Zealand and Australia and we encourage everyone to get out and watch as many live games as possible."
