he RFL is delighted to announce that the world's top male grooming brand Gillette will be the headline sponsors of the 2009 Rugby League Four Nations.
The tournament, which will be known as the Gillette Four Nations, kicks off in October when Australia, England, France and World Cup winner New Zealand play internationals at six venues on both sides of the Channel culminating in the final at Elland Road, Leeds, on Saturday November 14.
Gillette, who will also remain as England shirt sponsors for the next two years, are building on their sponsorship of the Gillette Tri Nations, which were staged in 2004, 2005 and 2006, much to the delight of the RFL'S Commercial Director Paul Kimberley.
"We are delighted that Gillette have decided to become the headline sponsors of a prestigious international tournament like the Gillette Four Nations," said Kimberley.
"Rugby league is one of the UK's fastest growing and most progressive sports and this partnership offers Gillette further opportunities to raise their profile and brand awareness on the world stage.
"The Rugby League World Cup was a huge success in Australia last year and we have no doubts that the inaugural Gillette Four Nations will build on the momentum from that tournament."
Nathan Homer, the Business Leader of Gillette UK and Ireland, added: "We are delighted to continue Gillette's long standing involvement with International Rugby League and play our part in pushing this tournament to the next level as it becomes the Four Nations."
The 2009 Gillette Four Nations kicks off on Friday October 23 when England play France at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster and continues on Saturday October 24 with a repeat of last year's World Cup final between New Zealand and Australia, who meet at the Twickenham Stoop.
A week later England play Australia at Wigan's JJB Stadium and New Zealand will travel across the channel to play France.
In the final week of group fixtures world champions New Zealand travel to Huddersfield to play England at the Galpharm Stadium, whilst Australia will take the short flight over to France.
The final of the tournament will be played at Elland Road, the venue of the 2005 Gillette Tri-Nations final, on Saturday November 14.
Tickets for the 2009 Gillette Four Nations start from 20 for adults, 10 for concessions and are available from the RFL Ticket Office on 0871 226 13 13 or www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk
Family tickets for two adults and two juniors are also available for all games including the final for just 40.
