Here it is! My pick for the top of the Top 20 in New Zealand.
Jack’s Point hasn’t yet reached wide global acknowledgement as one of New Zealand’s great new golf courses but the word is getting out there.
Here’s a few words from the anonymous blogger who, “…set out to play the top 100 golf courses in the world” and Augusta National is the only one left on his list.
Here’s the link to his great review of Jack’s Point
“Jack's Point is easily ranked as one of the top 25 courses I have ever played. Like my experience at Sand Hills, playing at Jack's Point permanently changes your perspective. The place raises the spirit, elevates your mood and leaves your yearning to come back for more.”
As for me who’s no longer in his youth. I love Jack’s Point because it’s not brutally hard like the Big Three of New Zealand. And yet it’s sufficiently challenging that when I score well it’s a real Wow!!!
The scenery is quite remarkable and that’s the good news. The sometimes noisy bad news is that it’s such a great location, your concentration can be disturbed by the frequent flights for sky divers from the adjacent airport, who get an even better view of the fabulous mountain and lake scenarios.
