"I will definitely be caddying for Tiger when he returns. There are no ifs and buts about that." – Steve Williams, as reported by Neil Reid of the Sunday News.
Steve is also quoted as saying he wouldn't tolerate any cheap-shots aimed at Woods.
But there is no mention of how he’s going to deal with the inevitable cheap shots.
It’s easy when dealing one on one with a naughty photographer but if there’s a barrage of cheap shots I’m thinking he’ll have to get the course marshals to give him a hand.
Geoff Shackelford commenting on Neil Reid’s article writes, “Stevie: I’m still going to be the world’s least loved luggage looper”
I’m not sure which of the duo will find it harder to keep their cool. But if pushed I’d say Steve might find it a wee bit harder to keep his tongue in check.
Steve said, "I won't do anything differently. I won't view him any differently. I will do the utmost best to be as professional as I can."
So it is to be hoped that Steve will be at his very professional best come the duo’s first outing. And let’s hope it’s not that far off.
The Masters won’t be the same without Tiger..
And I will try to be as professional, with no Scottish sour grapes comments about the all-England final of the World Golf Championship.
Well done chaps and particularly to Paul Casey for reaching the final for a second time.
The fact that no Americans made it to the semi-finals could be a good omen for the Ryder Cup and thankfully given Ian Poulter’s performance there will be no controversy this time as to his selection.
A CNN Living Golf news item says, “Colin Montgomerie has ridiculed suggestions that he will seek advice from Nick Faldo on captaining the European Ryder Cup team in 2010.”
And could it be there’s a wee cheap shot in Colin’s remark, “"Ah...no. I might turn for advice from some WINNING (my emphasis) captains like Ian Woosnam, Sam Torrance or Bernhard Langer -- all of whom I've played and won under.”

Thought for the day: On Caddies:
Caddies are a breed of their own. If you shoot 66, they say, "Man, we shot 66!" But go out and shoot 77, and they say "Hell, he shot 77!"
