John Howard Nominated For ICC Vice-Presidency

Former Australia Prime Minister John Howard has been jointly nominated by Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket for the position of ICC Vice-President from June/July 2010.

After a lengthy and comprehensive selection process Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket submitted Mr Howard's nomination to the ICC this morning (Tuesday).

The nomination will now go to the ICC's Executive Board meeting for approval in April and then proposed to the Full Membership at Annual Conference in June/July for acceptance.

Mr Howard said today: "It is a great honour to be nominated by Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket for the vice-presidency of the International Cricket Council from June-July 2010. Cricket has been one of my lifelong passions and, if the ICC accepts my nomination, it will be a privilege to serve this great game."
