Junior Black Sox guaranteed a medal at World Champs

With one round robin game remaining the Temperzone Junior Black Sox softball team are guaranteed a medal at the Junior (U19) Men's World Championships in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.

In their latest game they defeated Singapore 6-2 with Wellington’s Te Kahui Bishop hitting a big home in the third innings and Eru Drage from Auckland pitching the whole game.

Even if the Junior Blacks Sox drop their final game against Mexico they will still finish second behind defending champs, Argentina who they will face in the playoffs with the winner going straight through to the grand final. The loser of that game plays the winner of the third and fourth placed sides and has another opportunity to play in the grand final.

The win over Singapore gives the Kiwis a record of seven victories and only one loss overall.
