New Zealand squash No2 Campbell Grayson has lost in the first round of the US$115,000 North American Open in Richmond, Virginia to 8th seed and world No10 Aslan Iskandar(Malaysia) 6-11, 8-11, 5-11 in 45 minutes. The Aucklander ranked at 57 in the world had earlier won through qualifying beating 49th ranked Czech Jan Koukal 10-12, 11-3, 11-9, 11-3 to make the main draw.

Wellington's Martin Knight was defeated in the final round of qualifying by Australian Matthew Karwalski in straight games.
