Kiwis set for world open

There are a number of New Zealanders taking part in the World Squash Open in Rotterdam over the next week with three Kiwis competing in qualifying this weekend.

Auckland's Campbell Grayson scored a drawn out win over Germany's Andre Haschker 12-14 11-8 11-8 11-6 in 75 minutes to move into the second round of qualifying, but Kashif Shuja was defeated by Italy's Amr Ramsy Swelim in straight games 12-10 11-5 11-5.

New Zealand men's No1 Martin Knight from Wellington faces Jan Koukal from the Czech Republic in the first round of the main draw.

Waikato player, Kylie Lindsay has a bye in round one of the women's qualifying and will face either Leonie Holt(England) or Cigany Sillevis(Netherlands) in round two tomorrow (Sunday).

Kiwi women's No1, Joelle King is the 10th seed in the main draw and is set to play a qualifier first up with a potential clash against second seed Jenny Duncalf from England in the second round.
