Leeds, England, November 02, 2009 - The Kiwis travelled to Huddersfield today for a look at Galpharm Stadium, venue for their vital Four Nations clash against England on Saturday night.
With authorities not allowing teams to train on the ground, the Kiwis took the chance after their training run this morning to have a walk around the stadium.
The venue is familiar to some of the Kiwis including Fuifui Moimoi, Lance Hohaia, Sam Perrett, Thomas Leuluai, Frank Pritchard and Greg Eastwood. They all played there in the 14-20 first Test loss against Great Britain in 2007 while Jeff Lima was in the touring squad but missed that match.
The Kiwis, staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in central Leeds, have been using the John Charles Centre of Sport as their training base. They had a strength session there on Monday followed by field run and a pool recovery run today.
Centre Steve Matai (eye) has been ruled out of consideration for Saturday's Test.
Coach Stephen Kearney is planning to name his side on Thursday night (local time).
The Kiwis have field and strength sessions tomorrow.
