Knight guns for hometown win

Andy Knight and the KMS race team is in the final days of preparing the Gulf Oil - Century Batteries Falcon for round 2 of the V8 SuperTourer series at home base, Powerbuilt Tools Raceway - Ruapuna, over the coming Easter weekend.

The team has been working hard since the opening round at Hampton Downs in February, including an invaluable weekend testing with ace Australian peddler Alex Davison late inMarch.

"Being the first ever V8 SuperTourer event at Ruapuna we really want to deliver a first class result for our hometown fans" Andy Knight said "We had a solid start to the series at Hampton Downs and now we are ready to step it up a level. We havedone a lot of testing at Ruapuna so that should really work to our advantage"

Team manager Andy Neale added "A number of our team sponsors including Gulf Oil and John Jones Steel are Christchurch based companies so we really want to put on a good show for these guys. The whole race team is really about as good as it can be interms of preparation for this weekend so there will be no excuses"

Round 2 of V8 SuperTourers will also feature a unique promotion by Andy Knight Motorsport. Race fans should make a point of talking to the Gulf Oil and Century Batteries grid girls during the course of the weekend. The girls will have promo cards to enter a draw to win a Hot Laps ride experience in the racing Falcon with Andy Knight at the wheel.

Prior to the weekends racing the distinctive blue on blue racecar will be on display at various locations around Christchurch. Monday through Wednesday will see the car on display at Christchurch Airport. Thursday the car can be viewed at CRT FarmCentre in Waterloo Road, Hornby, followed by a late afternoon display at Team Hutchinson Ford in Christchurch central. Friday will see all of the V8SuperTourer cars on display at a public scrutineering at the Bush Inn Shopping Centre in Riccarton Road.
