Luck Out, Ah Mau In For Vodafone Warriors' NRL Clash Against Manly

20 March 2009 - Young front rower Leeson Ah Mau has been brought into the Vodafone Warriors' squad after it was decided today not to risk experienced loose forward Micheal Luck in Sunday's second-round NRL clash against Manly at Brookvale Oval.

Luck (26) was originally named in the travelling line-up on Tuesday but has been undergoing assessment throughout the week after he was knocked out in a heavy tackle by Parramatta prop Fuifui Moimoi last Saturday night.

"Micheal did a psychometric test yesterday and on the basis of his results he could have played against Manly this weekend," said team doctor John Mayhew.

"He hadn't been experiencing any difficulties since last Saturday night but after discussing the situation with him, my recommendation was that he wasn't fit to play."

Luck, one of the NRL's most durable forwards, has played all but two of the club's 78 games since joining the Vodafone Warriors in 2006.

Ah Mau (19), who made his NRL debut against the Eels, had been named to turn out for the Vodafone Junior Warriors in the NYC this Sunday but now returns to the first-grade squad.

Coach Ivan Cleary said the final line-up wouldn't be named until an hour before the match on Sunday. He said utility Aaron Heremaia, originally named as 18th man, was also in contention to play.
