Second rower Simon Mannering will make his 100th NRL appearance for the Vodafone Warriors tonight after being cleared to line up in the club's final match of the 2009 season against Melbourne at Mount Smart Stadium.

Mannering was in line to reach his hundred in last Sunday's clash against the Bulldogs but missed the match with a knee injury leaving him facing the prospect of finishing the season with his career total locked on 99.

The injury also ended an outstanding run of 92 consecutive NRL appearances stretching back to April 2006.

He wasn't originally named in the side earlier in the week to face the Storm but ran with the team in its final session on Friday and was cleared after coming through untroubled.

When a then 18-year-old Mannering made his first-grade debut against Brisbane in June 2005, Stacey Jones was the captain. Now more than four years later, Mannering will mark his 100-game milestone on a night when Jones makes his 261st and last NRL appearance.

After turning 23 only eight days ago (August 28), Mannering becomes the youngest of the 16 players who have now played 100 first-grade matches for the Vodafone Warriors. He's also the fourth player this season to reach the landmark.

Captain Micheal Luck, playing his 98th game for the club tonight, is next on the list with Manu Vatuvei (94), Steve Price (91) and Sam Rapira, 86 tonight, set to reach three figures next season.

With Mannering coming into the team in the second row, Lewis Brown moves to the bench while Ben Matulino, originally on the interchange, dropped off to play for the Vodafone Junior Warriors in tonight's NYC clash against the young Storm side.

Ahead of his NRL farewell tonight, Jones was presented with his match jersey by two surprise guests - his grandfather and 1961-66 23-test Kiwi legend Maunga Emery as well as his uncle Dave Mazzoleni, his coach and mentor in his junior years.

The match will close off Jones' NRL career after what has been his 12th season following an 11-season stint from 1995-2005.

Jones owns most of the club's records including most points (674) and most tries (77) as well as most games.
