Wellington, Aug 7 NZPA - Daryl Tuffey marked his return to the Black Caps by taking three wickets in a warm-up match against a Sri Lanka Development 11 at Colombo today.

New Zealand needed just 60.4 overs to end the Sri Lankans' first innings, bowling them out for 159 at the Colts Cricket Club ground.

Just after tea, New Zealand were 25 for one in their first innings.

Opener Martin Guptill departed for six runs after facing 21 balls, giving Sachith Pathirana a catch off bowler Tharanga Lakshitha.

Tim McIntosh was to resume after tea on six with Daniel Flynn on four.

Tuffey, returning to international action after his involvement with the outlawed Twenty20 Indian Cricket League took three for 41 off 10.4 overs.

Fellow paceman Chris Martin and spinners Jeetan Patel and Daniel Vettori chimed in with two wickets apiece while all rounder Jacob Oram collected one.

New Zealand will play another three-day warm-up match in Colombo ahead of the first of two tests beginning on August 18 at Galle.
