With the first Day 1 flight of the SKYCITY New Zealand Poker Open beginning at 6.15pm this Thursday (2 June), players from around New Zealand will be getting their poker faces ready.

The SKYCITY New Zealand Poker Open will see 240 of New Zealand’s top poker players converging on SKYCITY Poker located on Level 3 of SKYCITY Casino Auckland over Queen’s Birthday weekend for a chance to claim the title of SKYCITY New Zealand Poker Open Champion.

During the tournament, those who find themselves unlucky enough to be knocked out early or are looking to fill in a day before their Day 1 flight can take part in one of the two side events running. On Saturday 4 June there will be a $220 NZD No Limit Texas Hold’em event, followed on Monday 6 June with a $330 NZD No Limit Texas Hold’em Deep Stack event.

The Main Event will be run as a repecharge event. This means that players who buy into Day 1a and do not make the cut can buy into Day 1b or Day 1c for the full buy-in price and have another shot at making it through.
