Johannesburg, March 16 NZPA -- Hurricanes midfield back Ma'a Nonu was last night cleared of making a reckless tackle in the 37-13 Super 14 loss to the Stormers at Cape Town.
Nonu was cited for a tackle on Stormers first-five eighth Peter Granton Sunday morning (NZT).
Sanzar judicial officer Rob Stelzner overnight found him not guilty.
Aftyer hearing evidence from referee Steve Walsh, a submission on behalf of Nonu, and watching video of the incident, Stelzner ruled Nonu's arm slid up after making the tackle.
The impact point was below the shoulder line.
After back-to-back losses, Hurricanes play Super 14 leaders the Bulls in Pretoria on Saturday morning (NZT).
