NZ 281-5 At Tea, 36 Short Of Victory Over Bangladesh

Auckland, Oct 21 NZPA - New Zealand were 281 for five at tea on the final day of the first cricket test against Bangladesh, and require another 36 runs for victory at the Divisional Stadium in Chittagong today.

Set 317 to win, New Zealand were 212 for four at lunch and added another 69 runs in the middle session for the loss of wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum for two.

Skipper Daniel Vettori was unbeaten on 69 and Daniel Flynn was not out 29 -- the pair adding 65 for the sixth wicket.

Left arm spinner Abdur Razzak was the most successful bowler with two for 77 off 42 overs.
