Dunedin, Nov 25 NZPA - New Zealand were 404 for eight in their first innings at stumps on day two of the first cricket test between New Zealand and Pakistan at University Oval here today.
Bad light stopped play shortly after a resumption following a more than three hour rain delay.
Resuming on 276 for six, New Zealand lost Brendon McCullum, 78, and captain Daniel Vettori for 99 -- two balls before play was curtailed.
Umar Gul was the successful bowler today and ended with two for 115 from 34 overs.
Shane Bond was not out on eight and Iain O'Brien, two, when play ended. The third day will start at 11.30am tomorrow -- 30 minutes earlier in a bid to make up some of the time lost.
