Wellington, March 13 NZPA - Australian captain Ricky Ponting won his fifth consecutive toss and sent New Zealand in to bat in the fifth and final one-day cricket international at Westpac Stadium here today.
New Zealand made one change from their six-wicket defeat in Auckland on Thursday, recalling spinner Nathan McCullum for James Franklin.
Australia, who sealed the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy 3-1 on Thursday, made one change with paceman Clint McKay replacing Ryan Harris who had a toe injury.
The weather was fine and cool with a start due on time at 2pm (NZT).
