The New Zealand Rugby League's annual general meeting has been postponed after the Auckland Rugby League district sought and obtained an interim injunction under urgency in the High Court in Auckland today.
The grounds for the injunction were technical and related to the establishment of the Northern zone under the NZRL's new zonal structure.
The effect of the decision today is that it prevents the annual general meeting taking place in Auckland as scheduled tomorrow.
The NZRL says it will analyse the judgement once it has been received.
While the NZRL was disappointed with today's outcome, it said the decision wouldn't stop its commitment to implementing the reforms of the game approved at last year's annual meeting. In particular, the NZRL said it would continue to negotiate with the ARL district on issues it has raised.
