Eleven players have transferred to new Provincial Unions ahead of next month's selection of the New Zealand Rebel Sport Super 14 squads for 2010.
The New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) today confirmed the transfers which allow the moving players to make themselves available for one of the five New Zealand Rebel Super 14 franchises outside their original Provincial Union base.
NZRU General Manager of Professional Rugby Neil Sorensen said the transfer practice continues to give great flexibility and support to players and Provincial Unions providing for both Air New Zealand Cup and Rebel Super Sport 14 teams.
"The feedback we have had is that these are working well for players seeking more opportunities at Super rugby level, while having the ability to return to their home Provincial Union for the premier domestic competition," Mr Sorensen said.
