The Super 14 Rugby competition has come down to the two best teams in the Chiefs and the Bulls. Here is an analysis of who will win the 2009 tournament.

The Waikato Chiefs vs. The Pretoria Bulls at Loftus Versfeld, South Africa

The Chiefs will win it if...

They get on top of the Bulls early. The last few weeks the Bulls have looked very vulnerable early on and concede points. The Chiefs can exploit this if they do what they have done all year. (Which is get in front and stay there)  They are blessed with a balanced attack and defence. They have Stephen Donald running the show, he has certainly put his hand up for the first five black jersey. (If Carter or McAlister are not options)
Truly they are against all odds to pull this off at altitude. However, that is the best time to play your best rugby.
Oozing with All Blacks and a couple that are putting their hands up. They have the tools to get the job done away.

The Bulls will win it if...

They shut the game up early. Morne Steyn is playing into the starting Springbok jersey. He showed what he is made of against the crusaders. The Bulls have been the most consistent and dominant team. There losses have been marginal. They have all the experience and have recently won the championship in 2007.
They exploit teams with a finishing counter attack. The Bulls are entertaining to watch when they throw the ball around and go forward. This is their game to lose.

Who I think...

The Chiefs.  They have been such a constant threat in each game with a virtual no name tight 5. The loose forward & backs make this team stronger.  It will be a drop goal charge down away of a score line. I imagine.

My Super 14 virtual score 469. Rank = 205 - Waikato Chiefs 12 or under. (I know I must be crazy!)
Oh and a hapless Blues supporter. Go North Harbour!!!
