International Taekwon-Do Foundation of New Zealand (ITFNZ) supports the Government's Kiwisport initiatives for school-aged children as recently announced, says President of ITFNZ Master Evan Davidson.
"We will evaluate the funding options and I expect that we'll make a number of applications at the regional level, "A successful funding application will make a huge difference for the young people and communities which we are already a part of, "As an organisation we have a lot to offer young people.
We offer the health and lifestyle benefits of physical activity, as well as the chance to be part of a tight knit group, find mentors, and compete, "Additionally we offer the benefits of discipline and structure within a caring and fun environment. We have found that our young people respond well to this," says Master Davidson.
ITFNZ is currently preparing to host the 2011 International Taekwon-Do World Championships. ITFNZ has a number of world champions across a range of events.
