Wellington, Aug 12 NZPA - New Zealand women's basketball head coach Shawn Dennis likes who he has flanking him on the sideline this season.

Basketball New Zealand has confirmed a pair of former video technicians, Kennedy Hamilton and Aik Ho, as Dennis' Tall Ferns assistant coaches for the Oceania championship against Australia.

The two-match series will be played in Wellington on August 31 and Canberra on September 2.

"The good thing about both of them is that they have previous involvement in the Tall Ferns programme," said Dennis, who succeeded Mike McHugh as national women's head coach in May.

"It's a good mixture. Aik brings a very enthusiastic, energetic person to the floor. He'd do anything for the girls.

"Kennedy brings an intelligence to the game and does it in an understated way, which I think will really work well with the team."
